Why not have a go at these really cute book marks to 'mark' (excuse the pun) the day - you probably have most of the materials around the house - so what is stopping you? And you get to spend 20 minutes of quality time with your children = win win in my book (sorry, they just keep popping out)!
All you need is
A sheet of card
a ruler
pair of scissors
pencil
glue
and to decorate - if you have some pretty paper - could even be an odd bit of wrapping paper... and some paper or googly eyes if you have them
Draw a square on the card 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches (No. 1)
using the bottom line of the square draw another (No. 2)
using the right hand line of No 2 draw another (No. 3)- should look like an 'L' - you can cut out now or jump to the next bit and then cut out.
With your ruler draw a line from the top right hand corner to the bottom left corner of sqaure No.1 and do exacty the same to sqaure No.3 - with your pencil lightly scribble in the top triangle of No.1 and the bottom triangle of No.3 (this will help you to know which bit to cut off)
cut off the outer triangles you have just drawn and scribbled on - or cut the whole thing out, depending where you are...
Take your coloured paper and cut a square to fit in the only square that is left - or using pens or crayons, colour or draw a picture in the square.
Next fold the right triangle in towards the square using the line as a guide - crease
Then fold the left triangle inwards and glue these two sections together.
You now have a square with a triangle pocket - decorate the triangle - to make little monsters cut out eyes from paper and stick on with a black pen add in the pupils or use googly eyes if you have them. Then take one of the triangle sections you cut off earlier draw some teeth (little triangles going down form the long edge) and cut them out - glue along the long edge and insert inside the pocket (you may have to snip a tiny bit off each end to get a good fit).
Be creative as you can! But most of all have fun x
Once dry it is ready to use! Happy Reading

Over 200 uniquely crafted eggs, created by leading artists, designers, architects and jewellers, will be hidden across the capital this Easter. Gather your family and friends and join the hunt, for a truly original and interactive eggsperience! With so many eggs to find, grab your zone map and get the clues that will test even the savviest of Sherlocks!
Elephant Family and Action for Children are innovative charities with boundless passion and vision who both like to think big. It’s this shared approach that has brought the two charities together to create The Big Egg Hunt and raise the funds that they both so urgently need. Eggs are a universally recognised symbol of new life, a fresh start and hope for the future – the bedrock of both the charities’ missions.
I took my daughters up to see the elephants 2 years ago and it was an amzing day out! Don't miss out on this experience!
